We truly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. Richard is a gem (front desk) and he helped us with excursions on many occasions. Our room had an AMAZING view of the bay. The service was fabulous, the pool was great, the restaurant had delicious food, the breakfast buffet had lots of choices, and the location is walkable to downtown Cairns (note: this hotel is at the end of town, for some, this may be a little far. For us, it was no problem. We walked everywhere).
Great stay the Holiday Inn as part of a Jetstar package. 20 minute stroll into the heart of town so close enough without all the noise.
Clean room with comfy beds. Partial ocean view was great.
Lovely pool. No umbrellas or shade by the pool so can’t stay down there for too long and only a handful of sun beds so went down early to make sure we had a place to sit. Dinner in the restaurant first night as we arrived later than anticipated was ok, steak was over cooked and quite tough but calamari the next day was delicious. Friendly staff at the front desk were super helpful and lovely. Overall a great place to stay if you’re up for a 20 min walk into town (or game enough to hire one of the many electric scooters).
Lovely hotel. The ocean view tower was really nice. We had the highest level corner room with balcony and great views of all of Cairns nearly.
Staff were very nice to interact with and very welcoming.
Breakfast was a good buffet and I looked forward to starting each day with it.
Room was clean and comfy.
Definitely will be back again.
Everything apart from the room (old construction) was amazing.
The hotel definitely needs a proper renovation. The rooms (including washrooms) are old, shabby and awful.
There is no switch board in the entire room except one which is on the opposite wall to the bed. So, just in case you want to put your phone on charging, you will have to leave it far from you.
The HVAC is of old system and AC produces water droplets.
IHG should really focus on the hotels that were constructed ages ago!
Close to the beach/promenade but quite a way from Town. The rooms need a refurb, the first one had a leak in the roof which, but was changed when we notified reception. The bar has limited drinks and food basic. Check in was OK but the staff didn't identify us as silver members - usually we are acknowledged and offered a treat or a room upgrade.
Worst experience ever. The rooms are extremely old and smelly. The house keeper doesn't even do anything to clean the rooms and due to the cyclone they have cancelled the room service. The breakfast they serve in the morning is litreally same for the last 3 days so I'm thinking it's the leftovers since it tastes like old food. Staff members are rude and have a staring problem. We were under lockdown due to the cyclone and couldn't use majority of the facilities we paid for such as the pools and the gardens aswell as fresh food. But unfortunately we paid for everything and no discount was on the plate. Do not come to here if you are looking for a quality and clean experience. So disappointed. Waste of money. Needs an upgrade for the price you pay for.
Beautiful hotel with a wonderful view of the lagoon. Clean and comfortable beds. Very nice staff. We were able to store a suitcase here while out diving for 5 days.
An unexpected overnight stay but what a beautiful delight. About a 10 minute scenic walk from the restaurant district this is a beautiful place. With an inhouse restaurant and bar to accommodate your dining needs. The meals were absolutely delicious and the variety was great. Ocean views, a beautiful inside garden and swimming pool. The niggly negatives in the room shower over a small bath, no fan in the bathroom. My biggest gripe was the way a staff member interacted with other staff and customers. She was rude obnoxious and condescending. She embarrassed the young lady assisting the patrons. She had no idea what she was doing or talking about when she rudely interrupted. Even after this was pointed out to her she did it again resulting in 3 patrons getting up and walking out. Overall I love the Holiday inn and will endeavor to come back soon ❤️
